Hello Bartica, my old friend…

This piece is just a little glimpse into Bartica, on the Essequibo River. When you get to Guyana, make sure to add Bartica as one of the places to visit.

If you want a great adventure in one of the most beautiful places on earth, then head on down south to a little place called Guyana. Guyana is situated in South America and boasts some of the most gorgeous geographical wonders. It is lush with flora and fauna, and it is the breadbasket of the Caribbean islands. Oh yeah, Guyana is also of Caribbean culture.

There are thousands of animals to see, and places to visit, and people to meet. The people are friendly and love to entertain. The food is possibly the best you will taste in South America, and the Caribbean. The animals you may be lucky enough to see will change your perception of what you thought a rainforest holds.

The tropical rainforests, savannas, and coastal plains of Guyana are home to various types of animals. Some of the most unique wildlife native to this South American country include the jaguar, black caiman, cane toad, giant armadillo, jabiru stork, capuchin monkey, and leatherback turtle.

This country has 225 mammal species, 800 species of birds, 176 reptile species, 148 amphibian species, and 2,000 plus species of fish!
