The Canadian Cadet Program is a national youth-development program for people aged 12 to 18. Cadets are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces and are not required or expected to enlist.
The program is intended to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment in which young people can challenge themselves, contribute to their communities and prepare for adulthood.
Pete Hegseth, the United States secretary of defence, reposted a photograph from the Vernon Cadet Training Centre showing a young cadet receiving a medal from an instructor.
Hegseth added a Canadian flag and the words “this is real,” to specifically invite ridicule of two young girls, and to disparage Canada’s military.
The Pentagon defended the post, saying it “speaks for itself.”
The highest office in the US of A with their iconic eagle brand is now inhabited by the lowest carrion eating birds in the animal world. It is a given that their current government will support and applaud such behaviour. The eagle has left the mountain high, and the carrion crows are dancing in the excrement below.
The US of A is no longer a place of leadership, in fact the moral foundation they built their brand on is crumbling and dissipating from the weight of immoral sins.
It has been too many years of contention between that office and the world. Countries are treated like vassals that must comply or die, the natural resources of countries around the world are coveted, and when they can’t have it, they bomb it.
This office has turned so called “leaders” into sycophants who will give up their people and their resources. They have belittled and denigrated leaders live on stage to stoke their ego. They are attempting to starve out a country that does nothing but try to survive another day in this world. They have reneged on deals, mocked disabilities, abuse little girls, and so much more right before the eyes of all US of A citizens.
I understand the game of war and world domination. We all do, it is no different from a good chess game…use and abuse queens, topple kings, hide behind stone fortresses, attack with a handful of rotten knights riding on the backs of their army, throw in a few bishops to rile up the religious fanatics. And before, during and forevermore, sacrifice the poor peasants beneath their feet.
And like any triumphant chess game, look at who is left standing. The thing that did nothing but run and hide until their entire population have all been killed off.
We, Canadians, when we are insulted, we unite. When we are getting choked out of trade, we look elsewhere for the same ethical business standards as what we believe in. We try to align with countries that still believe in the moral standing of “people first”. We pull together and we support each other.
Our infighting can wait until the country is no longer under attack. That is moral fortitude.
We chose a leader, who does what is best for us as a whole, for our now and for our children’s tomorrow, for our people and our country. That is democracy.
We are Canadians, we stand up for the underdog, we live to fight another day, we elbows up, we keep moving forward. That is patriotism.
Let’s not only blame the USA’s “highest office” for the country’s plummeting regard.
The pity should lie with the US of A citizens who are seeing themselves for the first time in a mirror. They who were brave and strong and full of vigor when their country abused and attacked and created wars far off shore. But now it is right next door, what can they do?
In their current situation, the politicisation of insulting two young ladies in Canada is beyond their comprehension.
The people of the US of A are living their realities…war right at their doorstep, in their homes, in their schools where innocent babes are getting attacked.
They see more and more of their neighbours living on the streets, more drugs killing their people. They see their co-workers and friends and church congregations getting beaten down on the tarmacadam. They hear of disappeared people. They can barely afford the tariff-induced cost of food.
The atrocities of their current government has been banking, literally, on their cowardice, for so long now, that the damage seems done. The people gave up before they can even wake up.
This was never something to “wait out”. Waiting out really means one must do nothing but turn a blind eye, blame the victims, and choke to death on wilful ignorance
The citizens of the US of A’s silence “speaks for itself.”
